The academic year at the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky lasts from September 1st to July 1st. Each academic year consists of 2 semesters. The period of study according to the training program:
♦ Pre-university program – 2 semesters;
♦ Bachelor program (full-time and part-time education) – 8 semesters;
♦ Specialist program (full-time and part-time education) – 2 semesters;
♦ Specialist program in the field of study “Psychology” (part-time education) – 4 semesters;
♦ Master program (full-time and part-time education) – 3 semesters (from September 1st to January 1st);
♦ Postgraduate Study and Doctorate Program takes: – 3 academic years (off-job training);
– 4 academic years (on-job training).
All available training programs at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky are taught in either English, Russian or Ukrainian language.
South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky operates the Preparatory Department for foreign citizens. This department provides the following opportunities for international students:
♦ 10-month pre-university course of language training and general educational disciplines is carried out to ensure successful further studying at the main faculties of SUNPU and other higher educational institutions of Ukraine;
♦ language training for foreign students who are enrolled in major fields of study (Bachelor, Specialist and Master Diploma Programs);
♦ language training during graduate studies;
♦ language training for foreign teachers in the Russian and Ukrainian languages.
The instruction of international students is provided by a special Department of General Subjects and Language Preparation for Foreign Citizens as well as by instructors of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

In order to receive an official invitation letter to study at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky, the applicant should contact the international department and provide the following information:

Conditions of Admission
♦ Foreign citizens, who have got a degree of complete general secondary education shall be admitted to the undergraduate course.
♦ Foreign citizens, who studied at higher educational institutions of Ukraine or other countries shall be admitted for the further obtaining of higher education in Ukraine on the basis of documents, which certify the level of qualification.
♦ Foreign citizens, who have successfully completed training at the institution of higher education shall be admitted to the postgraduate course of higher educational and scientific institutions.
List of the Documents and Procedures for Submission
To enter South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky, foreign candidates need to submit the following documents:
• original of the secondary school diploma or college/university diploma
+ copies, translated into the Ukrainian language and certified (notarized and approved by the Consulate of Ukraine in the country of residence);
• medical certificate of the health condition, certified by an official health care authority of a country of residence, and issued at least two months prior the entrance into Ukraine for education;
• original of the Passport
• copy of the birth certificate;
• 6 photographs (size – 6*4 cm).
Preparatory Year. Language Training Course
Foreign citizens (except for those taking a degree of a candidate or doctor of science, and postgraduate students), who do not speak the Ukrainian / Russian language, or any other language of study shall be admitted to the preparatory faculty (department) for foreign citizens for 1 year language training. Foreign students who complete the course successfully, receive the state-recognized certificate, which allows to enter to higher educational institutions of Ukraine to acquire any field of study.
